Linda L. Hamilton, age 74, of Oak Street Warsaw passed away peacefully, Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital. Linda was born in Perry, January 15, 1949, a daughter of the late Donald and Marion Lewis Newland. A lifetime resident of Warsaw, Linda worked as a waitress at the family business in Warsaw, The Genesee Grill. Linda was a longtime member and loved The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Warsaw. She was a terrific cook and bartender. Linda enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint and was a fantastic short story writer. She adored her family and grandchildren.

Linda was preceded in death by a son, Dale Hamilton and four sisters, Gladys Newland, Donna Brothers, Nancy Baylor, and Rebecca Vongliss.

Survivors include her son, John (Daniel Gunderud) Newland of Buffalo, a daughter, Marian Scott of Warsaw, two sisters, Bonnie and Tina Newland both of Warsaw, five grandchildren, Ethan Newland, Abby Roeser, Roshaun Scott, Janelle Scott, and Justice Hamilton, three great grandchildren, Camden Newland, Benson Newland and Kasen Bush as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 4pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 286 Linwood Ave. Warsaw on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. Weeks Funeral Home 123 N.
