Lester F. Woodworth, age 73 of Warsaw, died December 8th, 2010 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital. He was born April 16th, 1937, in Pike, NY, the son of the late Croy and Mary Bower Woodworth. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County, Lester honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964. He worked for Lapp Insulator in LeRoy for 45 years before retiring in 2005. Lester was very talented at working with his hands and building. He had a terrific sense of humor and loved to ride motorcycles. Lester was a former member of Moose Lodge #560 in Warsaw. He is predeceased by a brother, James Woodworth; a sister, Gladys Anne Ackerman; and his faithful companion, "Sunny Girl" Woodworth. Survivors include his loving wife Barbara Woodworth whom he married on August 28th, 1964; 1 sister, Mary Lou Matyas of Warsaw; 4 brothers, Eugene (Etta Mae) Woodworth of Perry, Charles (Florence) Woodworth of Perry, Fredrick (Norma) Woodworth of Mt.Morris and Merle Woodworth of Pike; a sister-in-law, Patricia Woodworth of Orangeville, and many nieces and nephews. Friends of Lester may call from 7 to 9 PM, Friday, December 10th, 2010 at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street, Warsaw. Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, December 11th, 2010 at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Case of LaGrange Baptist Church as celebrant. Burial will take place in the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Perry Center. Memorial contributions may be made in Lester's name to the charity of the contributor's choice.
