Leora Hopkins, age 88, of Prospect St., passed away Friday, April 22nd, 2016 at the East Side Nursing Home in Warsaw. She was born in Alabama, NY, March 25th, 1928, daughter of the late Raymond and Isabella French Green. A lifetime resident of Attica and graduate of Alexander High School, Leora worked for Wilsons Feed Store in Wyoming in her early life, moving on to C.L. Carr in Batavia for 25 years; and finally as an Avon representative regionally for 30 years. She was a member of the Oatka Baptist Church, loved people and entertaining in her home. Her doors were always open to friends and strangers alike; some of which became family. Leora enjoyed flowers, travel, her pets, was an avid reader, and was known to be a meticulous housekeeper. She loved to sing, and did so on the radio in Batavia in her early life. Leora was predeceased by her husband, Ronald T. Hopkins in 2014; a son, Ronald R. Hopkins, a daughter; Sharon Lomax; a sister, Leila Bowers; and a brother, Paul Green. Survivors include a daughter, Leora "Faith" Cortright of Wyoming; a son, Larry T. (Kathie) Hopkins of Warsaw; a brother, Ronald Green of Batavia; 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. A memorial service will be held 11am, Monday, May 2nd, 2016 at the Valley Chapel Free Methodist Church in Warsaw with Pastor Larry Hopkins officiating.
