Obituary

Leonard A. Kososki, age 92, of Gainesville, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital. Leonard was born in Buffalo, December 30, 1929 a son of the late Louis and Pauline Lechwor Kososki. Len graduated from Warsaw High School with the class of 1947 before going on to earn his Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering from RIT. Len worked for Kodak, Markin Tubing and most recently for Darien Lake as their head electrician for 23 years before retiring in 2014.

He was a member of the Wyoming County Vet's Club and he enjoyed modeling planes and boats as well as dragon collecting. Len served our country honorably in the United States Army with the Signal Corps from 1948-1952 earning the rank of Corporal.

Len was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan Prieto Kososki in 1982, and brothers Raymond in 2006, Conrad in 2012 a son, John in 2018 and a grandson, James Jr. in 2020.

Survivors include a son, James (Eva) Kososki of Warsaw, a daughter, Lynn (Steve) Gill of Virginia, 2 brothers, Donald Kososki of Florida, Norman (Debbie) Kososki of Utah, a daughter in-law, Mary Ellen Kososki of Spencerport, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Friends of Leonard A. Kososki may call on Wednesday, August 3rd from 1-3 and 6-8pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw, NY 14569. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 4 th at 11am with Father Michael LaMarca of St. Michael's Church as officiant. Please visit www.weeksfuneral.com to offer condolences. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery in Warsaw with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #532 or the Wyoming County Veterans Inc. at 245 W. Buffalo St. Warsaw, NY 14569.
