Lawrence R. Carmody, age 86 of Fox Road Dale, died Wednesday, September 7th 2011 at his own home. Pete was born in Dale July 11th 1925 the son of the late Lewis and Annabelle Carmody. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County, Pete worked as a heavy equipment operator for thirty years with Local #832 at the B.R. Dewitt Company in Pavilion before his retirement in 1989. Pete was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed woodworking, farming and his beautiful flower gardens. Pete was also a past member of Wyoming Hook and Ladder. He loved his loyal friend and dog "Daisy". He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tammy Marie Veazy. Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-three years; Gertrude E. Kelsey Carmody, 2 daughters; Marlene (Jim) Veazey of Oakfield, Mary Lou (Art) Todtenhagen of Clarence Center, 7 grandchildren; Jennifer (Jeff) Schnettler, Karen (Lloyd Smith) Veazey, Janette (Jeff) Post, Kevin (Sarah) Veazy all of Oakfield, Jill (Kip) Kubiak of Clarence Center, Kristy Todtenhagen of Akron, Jerry Todtenhagen of Orlando, Florida, and 7 great-grandchildren also survive. Friends of Pete Carmody may call from 10-11am Monday, September 12th at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw. Funeral services will follow the calling at 11am with Pastor Lauren Turner of Warsaw's United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Dale Cemetery.
