Lawrence C. "Larry" Broughton, age 62, of Rt. 19A., passed away Wednesday, December 5 ^th , 2018 at his home in Portageville. He was born in Warsaw, November 12 ^th , 1956, son of the late Lyman and Patricia Brogan Broughton. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County and a 1975 graduate of Keshequa Central School, Larry worked for the New York State DOT as a Highway Maintenance Worker #2 from where he retired in April 30 ^th , 2018. He enjoyed hunting, camping, 4 wheeling, small engine repair, and mechanical work. He deeply loved his family and grandchildren, but had anger issues and a serious dislike for stupid people. Larry is survived by his wife of 32 years, Cheryl Beals Broughton of Portageville whom he married August 2 ^nd , 1986; a son, Larry (Belinda Ball) Broughton of Portageville; a daughter, Jaime Broughton of Portageville; a brother, Lynn (Roberta) Broughton of Gainesville; 3 sisters, Maureen (Earl) Goodenow of Portageville, Peggy (Kevin Godfrey) Smith of Toronto, Canada, and Glenda (Mark) Brooks of Warsaw; 3 grandchildren, Donavan and Tiffany Broughton, and Bryan Flanagan; an uncle, Dick (Sue) Broughton of Florida; and a dear aunt, Fay Beals of Buffalo. A memorial service and time of remembrance will be held on July 27th 2019 at 2pm on McCormick Street in Pike. Burial will take place in the Assumption Cemetery, Portageville .
