Lawrence J. Dumbleton Jr., age 76, formerly of Gainesville, died Thursday, June 18th 2009 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. He was born in Gainesville, August 27th 1932, the son of the late Lawrence J. and Marion A. Davis Dumbleton. He was a 1950 graduate of Gainesville High School and worked for the Wyoming County Highway Dept. for 20 years before retiring in 1995. He then opened his own business in Gainesville, "L & D Auto Repair", which he operated for 10 years. He was a longtime member of the Gainesville United Methodist Church. He enjoyed camping and traveling, especially his annual trips to Disney World. He also enjoyed attending country music jamborees and spending time with his beloved family.
He was predeceased by his Parents, most recently his mother Marion on August 5th 2008, a brother; Donald Dumbleton and a sister; Lois Ferrington.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Diana M. Bush Dumbleton whom he married on March 14th 1953, 3 daughters; Cynthia (Alan) Foote of Perry, Roxanne (Garry) Ingles of Warsaw, Luanne (Frank) Tones of Castile, 2 sons; Lawrence J. Dumbleton the 3rd of Gainesville, and Gary (Sonia) Dumbleton of Warsaw, 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
