LaVerne F. VanBuren, age 77, of Salina St., Warsaw, passed away Tuesday, April 10th, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Warsaw, September 18th, 1934, the son of the late Walter and Florence Lobell VanBuren. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County, LaVerne worked for Balderzak and Sons in Medina on building construction. He retired from Rochester Laborers Local #435 in 1972. LaVerne loved riding his Harley and snowmobile, spending time on the farm with his animals, camping, hunting, fishing, the Perry Speedway and the Hamburg Fair. He is predeceased by 2 brothers, Howard and Charles; and 3 sisters, Dorothy Draper, Isobelle Dudzic, and Leona Ryclick. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Sally A. Schmidt VanBuren whom he married September 20th, 1952; 5 daughters, Debbie (Steve) Abbott of Silver Springs, Dawn Mattson of Silver Springs, Darlene (Steve) Abramson of Kingsford, MI, Diane (Pat) Hoffman of Arcade and Laurie (Scott) Holden of Kemper, TX; a son, L. Todd (Michelle Harmon) VanBuren of Warsaw; a sister, Evelyn Wilson of Greenville, SC; 24 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends of LaVerne may call from 2pm to 4pm, Saturday, April 14th, 2012 at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St., Warsaw. A memorial service will be held at 4pm following the calling hours.
