Zeches, Kevin B.
Warsaw-
Kevin Berkley Zeches, age 76, of Wyoming Street Warsaw, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Highland Hospital, in Rochester, after a brief illness, where he was surrounded by his loving family. Kevin was born at Wyoming County Hospital on May 6, 1948 that later became the Zeches Store. Kevin was the son of the late Carl W. and Isabelle Bauer Zeches. After graduating from Warsaw Central School in 1967 he attended Hiram Scott College in Nebraska. Upon returning home for summer break, Kevin met and eloped with Margaret Browning and remained in Warsaw working for the family business "Zeches Furniture and Appliance" before purchasing the business from his father in 1972. He successfully operated the retail store for many years and was joined by his children for the last 20 years, when he began to take a little more time for himself and his family. As a lifelong resident of Warsaw, Kevin had a deep love and commitment to his community. He contributed to the town he loves by serving as both a Town and Village Board member, lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge # 549, member of the Warsaw Moose #560, Active and Exempt member of Warsaw Fire Dept and Rescue Squad as well as fire police. He was very proud of the fact he earned his Eagle Scout with Troop 4033. He had a great love and understanding of the impact the agricultural community has on our region and enjoyed conversing with the local farmers. Kevin was a longtime member of Valley Chapel Free Methodist Church and past President of the Warsaw Kiwanis Club and local Chamber of Commerce. He served on the committee of the GLOW Region Workforce Development of which he was incredibly proud of all they accomplished and served as the Northeast Chapter President of AVB Buying Group. His most valued role was that of Dad and Poppa. Nothing made him more proud than seeing his children and grandchildren's accomplishments and encouraging their future plans.
Kevin was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Zeches.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Margaret A. Browning Zeches, whom he married on August 2, 1968. Additional survivors include his daughter, Vanessa (Walt) McCormick of Java, a son, Brandon (Michelle) Zeches of Warsaw, 3 brothers, Wayne (Nola) Zeches of The Villages, Florida, Paul Zeches of Punta Gorda, Florida, Kean (Sandra) Zeches of Kirkville, New York, 5 grandchildren, Emily and Jacob McCormick, Madeline, Camden, and Bryson Zeches, and several nieces and nephews.
