Kathy L. Haynes, age 74, formerly of Maple Street, Wyoming, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, Sunday, July 28, 2024 at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw. Kathy was born in Charleston, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Lester and Mary Baxter Rose. She graduated from high school in Elkins, West Virginia and later earned her nursing degree as an Licensed Practical Nurse. Kathy worked at various locations around Western New York and later retiring from Lake Plains Dialysis in Batavia. She resided in Warsaw since 2019 and previously in Wyoming, NY and Germany with her late husband. Kathy was strong in her Baptist faith and enjoyed volunteering at the Apple Umpkin Festival in Wyoming. She was a terrific cook and enjoyed canning. Kathy was a thrifty lady who knew how to make do with what she had at hand. She loved to see the family grow with new grandchildren.
Kathy was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Shirley Alltop and her second husband, Rodney Haynes.
Survivors include her two daughters, Shelly (Lance) Winspear of Pearl Creek, Suzanne (Doug) Best of LeRoy, six grandchildren, Shane Winspear of Pearl Creek, Cassie (Sean Bennett) Winspear of Rochester, Jessa Best of Massachusetts, Ashley (Nikolas) Filimonov of LeRoy, Taylor (Damian) Morfin Howes of Alden, Joshua (Ashlyn Phelps) Best of LeRoy and a great grandson, Jaxson Kiesinger of Massachusetts.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11am in the West Branch Cemetery Wellsboro, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw, NY 14569 has arrangements. Please visit www.weeksfuneral.com to offer condolences, send gifts cards, to light a candle or to plant a tree in Kathy's name. Memorial contributions are requested to the American Cancer Society at Cancer.Org.
