Karen J. Blanke, age 63, of Old State Rd., passed away suddenly Thursday, August 25th, 2016 in York. She was born in Warsaw, May 12th, 1953, daughter of the late Harold and Dorothy Swift Keller. A lifetime resident of Covington, Karen worked for Champion in Perry, then as assistant manager of food service at SUNY Geneseo, and finally as an associate for over 20 years at Wegmans in Geneseo. She was a one of a kind mother, wife and grandma who loved spending time with her grandkids. Karen also enjoyed gardening, raising horses, dogs and cats, travel and entertaining in her home. She was predeceased by a brother, Ken Keller. Survivors include her husband, Richard Blanke of Covington; a daughter, Vanessa Rhodes of Rochester, 2 sisters; Pat Hendrickson of Warsaw and Carol (Bob) Benninger of Endicott; 3 grandchildren, Dakota and Brody Miller, and Vivien Rhodes; and a close friend, Ben Rhodes of Rochester. Friends of Karen may call from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm Tuesday, August 30th, 2016 at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw. A funeral service will be held 10am Wednesday, August 31st, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Case officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Ash Cemetery, Covington.
