Obituary

Joy A. Niediek, age 67, of Rte. 20a East, passed away at her home Thursday, August 20th, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Wilburton, OK, September 6th, 1947, daughter of the late Chester Lee Martindale and Willie Delana Standridge. A resident of Warsaw since 1997, previously of Perry Center, Joy worked at Bok industries in LeRoy from where she retired in 2001 after 7 years. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Batavia. Joy enjoyed reading, gardening, camping, hiking, the outdoors, and was a member of the bowling league in Perry. She loved her cats and dogs which she called her four legged children. At a late age, Joy earned her GED and attended college to receive her medical transcriptionist degree, both of which she was very proud of. Joy was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Feight. Survivors include her loving husband Walter J.S. Niediek Sr. whom she married September 18th, 1999; 3 daughters, Terri (Mike Rugenstien) Washburn of Fairport, Thressa Lopez of Phoenix, AZ, and Crystal (Peter) Jaroszek of Lugoff, SC; 4 step-children, Walter (Daniale) Niediek Jr. of Natick, MA, Erika (John) Baron of Mashpee, MA, Jennifer (Steve McPherson) Niediek of Franklin MA; and Billy (Holly) Washburn of Short Tract; a brother, Tommy Martindale of Lawton, OK; 19 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Friends of Joy may call from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm Monday, August 24th, 2015 at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home 11am Tuesday, August 25th, 2015 with Pastor Sare Anuszkiewicz of the Trinity Episcopal Church officiating.
