Bliss
John H. Richards Jr. age 60 of Eagle Road Bliss, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at Suzanne's Comfort Care in Perry. John was born in Warsaw, May 14, 1965 a son of John Richards Sr. of Port Charlotte, FL, and Judy (Paul) Wayman Sears of Trenton, FL. John graduated from Letchworth Central School in 1984 and he went on later to become an Electricians Apprentice for D.J. Beardsley and Sons in Castile for over 15 years. A Bliss resident for the past three years, John previously resided in Pike for most of his life. He enjoyed building model Cars from scratch to include the fine details in painting and trim. John was a dedicated NASCAR fan "#2" and he loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was not only a dedicated and supportive father, but he adored his grandchildren. John was the "Rock" of his family and his passing will leave a very deep hole.
John was preceded in death by a son, Derek Richards in 2009 and a sister, Jody Shurtleff.
Survivors include his longtime loving companion and mother of his daughters, Tammy Fuller, his sons, Brandon (Daniel) Richards of Dansville, John (Kylie) Fuller Jr. of Gainesville, Thomas (Marissa) Fuller of Warsaw, his daughters, Madison (Jacob) Cote of Castile, Alexis (Ryan Fileger) Richards of Castile, Avery Richards of Bliss, a brother Jeff (Season) Richards of Painted Post, the mother of his children, his former wife and mother of his sons, Sherry Hughes of Perry, his grandchildren, Breanna Sabins, Kinlee, Melanie, and Andrew Fuller, nieces, Jessica Shurtleff, Sydney, Savanna, and Kylie Richards, Nephews, Nathan Shurtleff and Tyler Richards.
Friends of John H. Richards Jr. may call on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 12pm to 2pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw, NY 14569. Please visit www.weeksfuneral.com to offer condolences, light a candle or plant a tree in John's name. Memorial services will follow the calling beginning at 2pm with Pastor Eric Kelly of the First Congregational Church in Perry Center as officiant. Memorial contributions are requested to Suzanne's Comfort Care at 167 N. Main Street Perry, Y 14530.
