John W. Kreutter, age 80, of Maple Street, Wyoming New York, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, March 22 ^nd 2022 surrounded by his loving family. John was born in Batavia, September, 4 ^th 1941, a son of the late Henry W. and Odelia Schunk Kreutter. After high school, John worked for the Erie Railroad. He served in the United States Army, with the Field Artillery, from 1964-1966. After returning home, John went back to work for the Erie Lackawanna and later Conrail Railroads before retiring with thirty years of service as a Track Supervisor in 1995. John was a member of St. Michael's Church in Warsaw and the Walter Klein Post #532 of The American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and both flower and vegetable gardening.

John was preceded in death by a daughter; Laura L. Kreutter in 1988, six sisters; Grace Pistorio, Alice Walton, Betty Gephardt, Ethel Wilkes, Mary Shaw, Doris Elliott, three brothers; Henry Kreutter, Elmer Kreutter and Richard Schunk, his former wife and mother of his children; Linda Sprague.

Survivors include his wife; Jean M. Elliott Kreutter whom he married October 26, 2013 and with whom he renewed his vows with on February 19, 2022. Additional survivors include his two sons; Nathan W. (Jacky) Kreutter of Warsaw, Andrew B. (Kari) Kreutter of Wyoming, a sister; Clara (Tom) Elliott of Attica, three step-sons; Craig Hirsch of Wyoming, Chad (Jennifer) Hirsch of Edgewater, FL, Joshua Hirsch of Wyoming, seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, a great granddaughter; and a step great grandson as well as several nieces and nephews.

An American Legion Service will be held at 4pm, Thursday, March 24 ^th at Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw and calling will follow the service from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Friday March 25 ^th at St. Michael's Church 171 N. Main Street Warsaw with Father Michael LaMarca as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery Warsaw at the conclusion of the mass with full military honors. Memorial contributions are requested to the church in John's name.
