John L. Button, age 77, of Prospect St., passed away Friday, December 27th, 2013 at the East Side Nursing Facility in Warsaw. He was born in Wellsville, January 15th, 1936, son of the late Roy and Mabel Edwards Button. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County, John worked as a potato farmer with McCormick Farms for over 20 years, before retiring in 1996. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and a hard working family man who loved spending time with his grandchildren. John was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary O'dell Button who passed away in October of 1990; 2 daughters, Pauline Gayhart and Suzanne Button; 3 Brothers, Frank, Roy and Arthur Button; and 3 sisters, Mary Ann Stalzer, Shirley Mills, and Helen Dungan. Survivors include a son, John (Laurie) Button of Warsaw; 2 daughters, Melinda (Terry Allen) Morris of Franklinville and Kathy (Robert Sled) Button of East Concord; a sister, Diane Grimm; 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends of John may call from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm, Monday, December 30th, 2013 at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St., Warsaw. A funeral service will be held 10am Tuesday, December 31st, with Reverend Tom Horner of the Castile Baptist Church as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Greenwood, NY.
