Obituary

Jerold D. Rider Sr. age 67 of Lamb Road Wyoming, died Tuesday October 21st 2008 at the United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. He was born in Hornell, NY, November 12th 1940 the son of the late Clarence A. and Dorothy Barnes Rider. Jerry was a lifetime resident of Wyoming County and worked for 32 years at Lapp Insulator in LeRoy. He worked for the last fourteen years as a machine operator for The Gleason Works in Rochester. Jerry belonged to St. Mary's Church in Pavilion, the Perry Sportsman's Club and Warsaw Moose Lodge #560. He enjoyed hunting and riding his motorcycles. Jerry will be remembered by all as a kind and appreciative husband and father. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Marilyn (Campbell) Rider whom he married on June 27th 1959. Also surviving is a son; Jerold (Teresa) Rider Jr. of Gainesville, 3 daughters; Dawn (Butch) Hirsch of Pavilion, Kim (Dick) Welliver Sr. of Castile, Sherry (Rob King) Rider of Pavilion, and seven grandchildren also survive. Friends of Jerold D. Rider may call on Friday, October 24th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw. Prayers will be held at the funeral home at 9:15am Saturday. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Saturday, October 25th at St. Mary's Church in Pavilion with Father Richard Cilano celebrating and assisted by Pastor Doug Evans of the Wyoming Baptist Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Batavia.
