Jean A. Shaffer, age 72, of Merchant Rd., passed away Wednesday, August 15th, 2012 at her home in Warsaw. She was born in Warsaw, March 18th, 1940, the daughter of the late Gordon E. and Marian C. Smith Kinney. A lifetime member of Warsaw, Jean graduated from Warsaw High School in 1958. Jean was a dedicated and loving homemaker who took great care of her family. She attended Valley Chapel Free Methodist Church and was a member of the Western New York Draft Horse and Pony Club. Jean was an artist who painted with oil, acrylics and pastels. She also loved to build and was known to be a builder, carpenter and mason; skills learned from her father. Camping was also a passion of Jean's with Maine being her favorite destination. Jean was predeceased by her first husband, Albert "Butch" Sharman in 1982 and her second husband, George L. Shaffer in 1996. Survivors include 2 daughters, Karen (Tommy) Hyde of Pike and Brenda (Neil) Parmerter of Wethersfield; a son, Steven (Charlotte Goodenow) Sharman of Warsaw; a sister, Charlotte Kinney of Carlisle, PA; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a nephew; and dear friends Smiley Thompson of Pavilion and Gil Lange of Pavilion. Friends of Jean may call Monday, August 20th, 2012 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street, Warsaw. A funeral service will be held 10am, Tuesday, August 21st, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor Todd Daninburg of the Valley Chapel Free Methodist Church as officiant.
