Jean Norma (Dills) Kinney, age 87, of North Maple Street, Warsaw, passed away Wednesday, May 27th 2015 at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw. She was born in East Bethany, January 27th, 1928, daughter of the late Richard and Ruth Belt Dills. A lifetime resident of Genesee County, and 1946 graduate of Pavilion Central School; Jean was a dedicated and loving home maker. She loved to cook and garden, and worked the kitchens of the Pavilion Livestock Market. She remained close to her classmates of 1946, hosting annual get-togethers and luncheons. Her house was always open to the friends of her children whom she fed generously. A student of John Peasley, Jean was a locally known landscape artist and an accomplished quilter. Jean was a lifelong reader who enjoyed books and reading. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Carl Elroy Kinney Jr. whom she married in 1947; an aunt, Clara Belt Dills; an uncle, Henry Dills; a sister, Barbara Oprean and a cousin, Edwin Dills. Survivors include 8 children; Susan Kinney of Pavilion, Jane (David) Hume of Pavilion, Sally (Thomas) Coughlin of Pavilion, Carl (Rhonda Carson) Kinney of Pavilion, David (Gail Haskins) Kinney of Pavilion, Melissa Isabel of Virgina, Richard (Jeffi Post) Kinney of Powell, Wyoming and Mary Beth (Tom) Hume of LeRoy; 2 sisters, Betty (Samuel) Nevin and Evelyn Fraser; a sister-in-law, Ruth Boening; 2 cousins, Joyce Fraser and Roger (Eunice) Dills; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. There are no calling hours scheduled and a gathering will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jean's name to the Pavilion Public Library, 5 Woodrow Drive, Pavilion, NY 14525.
