Jean E. Buelte, age 72, of Pavilion Warsaw Rd., passed away Wednesday, May 20th, 2015 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Buffalo, August 22nd, 1942, daughter of the late Sulley and Ruth Haxton Cook. A lifetime resident of Wyoming and Genesee Counties and a 1959 graduate of Letchworth High School, Jean worked as a CNA and Home Health Aid for Wyoming County as well as running the 24 Hr. Texas Red Hot in Perry. She was a member of the Attica Rodeo Association and operated the concession stand for many years. Jean enjoyed reading, bird watching, horseback riding and playing Euchre. She was known to be a practical joker, a strong woman, supportive, non-judgmental, and dedicated to her family placing others first. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Buelte and a brother, Sulley Robert Cook. Survivors include 6 children; Jeannette (Dennis) Dumbleton of Wyoming, Paulette (James) Nelson of Bliss, Wayne Tavernier of Wyoming, Scott (Cathy) Tavernier of Perry, Barb (Al) Weaver of Fultonville, and BJ Buelte of Perry; 5 sisters, Carol (Jim) Sonricker of Leicester, Gwendolyn McKenzie of New Brockton, Alabama, Suzanne (Tom) Kral of Santa Maria, California, Patricia (Brian) Cook-Wood of Buffalo, Donna (Ben) Murphy of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a brother, Richard Cook of West Palm Beach, Florida; a sister-in-law, Sandy Cook of Delevan; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Friends of Jean may call from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm Tuesday, May 26th, 2015 at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw. A memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
