Obituary

James W. Phillips age 75 of Linwood Ave. Warsaw, died suddenly, Saturday, March 3rd 2012 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. He was born in East Otto, New York, August 13th 1936, the son of the late Melvin and Nina Hobson Phillips. Jim lived in Warsaw for seven years; previously Barker and Medina, New York where he worked as a builder for Barden Homes. Jim also worked at Aronson's in Arcade as a welder for many years. Jim was a terrific father and grandfather who enjoyed fishing and walking his beloved dog, Sarah.
Jim was preceded in death by first wife Margaret Kaiser in 1991 and his second wife Rosemarie Carns in 2005. Also two brothers Archie and Kenneth Phillips are predeceased.
Survivors include three daughters; Kathy (Keith) Kraft of Varysburg, Sherry (Greg) Turton of West Seneca, and Debby (Paul) Zink of Quakertown, PA, a brother Leland Phillips of Farnam, NY, a sister Kate Contrucci of New Mexico, six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends of James W. Phillips may call on Tuesday, March 6th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw. Graveside services and burial will be held at 11am on Wednesday, March 7th at the Sardinia Cemetery with Pastor Dave Kubiak of the Sardinia United Methodist Church as celebrant. Memorial contributions are requested to the Warsaw Rescue Squad at PO Box 22 Warsaw, NY 14569.
