James D. Blake, age 61, of Park Ave., Castile, passed away Monday, March 6th, 2017 at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was born in Butler, PA, August 15th, 1955, son of the late James C. and Cora A. Myers Blake. A resident of Castile briefly, previously of Wyoming, James worked as a farm hand for the Hi-Land Farm in Wyoming. He and his life were truly reflected in the idea "so God made a farmer". James enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was a hardworking and caring man who would never hesitate to give you the shirt off his back. James was predeceased by a sister, Deb Shay and a step-father, Wallace Howland. Survivors include a son, Nathan (Susan Wells) Blake of Crooksville, OH; a daughter, Kimberly (Josh Martin) Blake of Warsaw; a sister; Sue (Tom) Irwin of Warsaw; 6 brothers, Robert (Doreen Platt) Blake of Pavilion, Phillip (Tammy) Blake of Eau Claire, PA, David (Angelina) Blake of Wilson, NC, John (Kim) Howland of Eau Claire, PA, Brian (Jennifer Washburn) Howland of Pavilion and Jake (Jennifer) Howland of Pavilion; 4 grandchildren, Michael, Jacob and Amanda Blake of Crooksville, OH and Trenton Martin of Warsaw; longtime friend and former wife, Molly Blake; and several nieces and nephews. Friends of James may call Saturday, March 11th, 2017 from 10 to 11am at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw. A memorial service will be held following the calling hours at the funeral home, 11am with Mike Myers officiating.
