Henry E. Schell, age 81, of Miller Road Silver Springs, passed away Monday, April 12 th 2021 at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw after a short stay and a lengthy illness. Henry was born in Buffalo, July 23 rd 1939, a son of the late Henry P. and Lorraine F. Gloss Schell. Henry was a lifetime resident of Wyoming County and worked at General Motors in Tonawanda as an inspector. Hank was good with his hands, learning the trades of auto and diesel mechanic. After leaving GM, Hank went to work for B.R. Dewitt, Trojan, Burnwell Gas, and Laidlaw before retiring in 1996. Hank enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting any game that was in season. He was very musical and enjoyed playing steel guitar with the band "Country Roads". Hank was dedicated to his family, especially his beloved grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother; Richard Schell and his sister; Beverly Hogan.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years; Diane E. Todd Schell, whom he married on October 4 th 1958. Additional survivors include his two daughters; Leisa (Thomas) Joos of Perry, Susan (Ron) Errington of Warsaw, four sons; Paul (Brenda) Schell of Warsaw, John (Rhonda) Schell of Wethersfield, Bradley (Randi) Schell of Warsaw, Christopher (Karen) Schell of Silver Springs, two sisters; Betty Bailey of Warsaw and Carol Green of Rochester, a brother; Robert (Karen) Schell of Silver Springs, seven grandchildren; Aaron (Jeanette) Joos of New Jersey, Daniel Joos of Perry, Joshua, Jacob, and Bailey Schell all of Warsaw, Hollie and Danielle Errington both of Warsaw, two step grandchildren; Tia Elster and Toni Paul both of Warsaw, two great grandchildren;Max and Penny Joos of New Jersey as well as several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends of Henry Schell are invited to a celebration of life Saturday, June 5 th 2021 1pm, at 4820 Quarry Road, Warsaw. The will be a brief ceremony conducted followed by food and music. (BYOB)
