Helen Thater Milroy, age 67, of Perry Road Pavilion, died peacefully Tuesday, April 7th 2009 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by family and friends. Helen was born in Batavia, February 27th 1942 the daughter of the late Norman and Winifred Mayne Thater. She graduated from Pavilion Central School in 1960 and went on to marry her loving husband of 48 years, Paul Alan Milroy whom she married on July 2nd 1960. A lifetime resident of the area she was a dedicated homemaker and mother. She was the former historian for the town of Bethany and a longtime member of Home Bureau. Helen enjoyed sewing and being a mother and grandmother. Out of the generosity of her heart, she opened her home to numerous foster children throughout the years. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister Ann Thater and a brother Paul Thater. Survivors include her husband Paul, 1 daughter:Christine (Robert) Moore of Elba, 5 sons; Philip (Julie) Milroy of Paris, TN, John (Lisa) Milroy of Wyoming, Stephen (Sharie) Milroy of Batavia, Michael Milroy of East Bethany, Peter (Tanya) Milroy of Lyndonville,1 daughter in-law; Michelle Milroy of Pavilion, 15 grandchildren, 3 brothers; Norman (Barbara) Thater, Ronald Thater, Douglas (Meg) Thater all of LeRoy, 3 sisters; Hilda (James) Phillips of Pavilion, Joyce (Carl) Hume of LeRoy, Judy (Richard) Loveland of Pavilion, a sister in-law Debby Long of Pavilion, Close friends Laura and Ellen as well as several nieces and nephews survive. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 18th at 12:30pm at The First Baptist Church Pavilion, 10956 S. Lake St. A celebration of her life to follow at Nobles Field House, York Rd, Pavilion.
