Harold W. Ellis Sr., age 70, of Center St., passed away Monday, January 22nd, 2018 at the Buffalo V.A. Medical Center. He was born in Warsaw, August 31st, 1947, son of the late Edward and Elizabeth Jacobs Ellis. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County, Harold worked as a Diesel Mechanic for Freightliner in Rochester from where he retired in 2012. He enjoyed deer hunting, canoeing, and taking 4 wheeler off road trips. Harold served his country honorably with the United States Army in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Raymond and David Ellis; and 3 sisters, Phyllis Garcia, Linda Guvera, and Reva Spann. Survivors include his wife, Dona Lee Ellis of Warsaw; a daughter, Dawn (David Meeder) Kahl of Silver Springs; a son, Harold (Bobbie) Ellis Jr. of Perry; 2 brothers, James (Shirley) Ellis of Geneseo and Lawrence (Sue) Ellis of Painted Post; 2 sisters-in-law, Sandra (Tim Rowcliffe) Demmer and Evelyn Kapp; 6 grand children, Autumm and T.J. Kahl, and Ashley, Natasha, Ian, and Jaylyn Ellis; and several nieces and nephews. A private graveside service with military honors will be held in the spring in the Warsaw Cemetery.
