Obituary

Gordon R. Radley, age 87, of Transit Rd. passed away Monday, November 2nd, 2015 at his home in Pavilion. He was born in Batavia, April 20th, 1928, son of the late James L. and Edith M. Scoins Radley. A lifetime resident of Pavilion, Gordon was a self employed dairy farmer until he sold in 1989, then going on to work rest area maintenance through the New York State Green Thumb Program for several years. He also worked at the Empire Livestock Auction in Pavilion for many years. Gordon was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pavilion and received an award for 50 years of service from the Pavilion Fire Department in 2006. He enjoyed camping and fishing, as well as spending time with friends and family. Gordon was predeceased by a sister, Ethel Cromwell. Survivors include his loving wife Thelma J. Powell Radley whom he married in 1977; 2 sons, Raymond (Tracy) Radley of East Bethany and Jimmy (Brandy Cobb) Mead Jr. of Tampa, FL.; 4 daughters, Tammy (Stephen Denochick) Mead of Nunda, Dawn Radley of Warsaw, Kimberly (Darrin) Bailey of Medina, and Tracy Radley of Batavia; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends of Gordon may call from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm Monday, November 9th, 2015 at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw where a Fireman's service will be held at 7pm. A memorial service will be held 10am Tuesday, November 10th, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Pavilion with Rev. Glenn Richard officiating. Burial will follow in the Pavilion Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Gordon's name to Homecare and Hospice at http://www.homecare-hospice.org or to the American Cancer Society at http://www.cancer.org.
