Gordon Wesley Brown, age 79, of Main St. Batavia, passed away Saturday, February 7th, 2015 at the United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. He was born in Middlebury, October 7th, 1935, son of the late Wesley and Edith Knox Brown. A lifetime resident of the area and Wyoming Central School graduate, Gordon worked as a computer programmer for B.R. Dewitt in Pavilion from where he retired. He was a member of the West Middlebury Baptist Church and served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1955 to 1961. Gordon was predeceased by a brother, David Brown. Survivors include his loving wife, Beulah Hudson Brown of Batavia; a son, Dale W. Brown of Santa Anna, CA; a daughter, Lora (Dennis) Moroz of Wyoming; 2 sisters, Marjorie (Joseph) Sherwin of Watkinsville, GA and Patricia (Gene) Tiede of Pavilion; a sister-in-law, Barbara Brown of Attica; 2 grandsons, Andrew (Tina) Moroz of Palmyra and Tyler Moroz of Wyoming; and many nieces and nephews. Friends of Gordon may call from 11am to noon, Wednesday, February 11th, 2015 at the West Middlebury Baptist Church 4950 West Middlebury Road, East Bethany, NY 14054. A funeral service will be held following calling hours at noon with Pastor Dale Cuer officiating. Burial will follow privately in the West Middlebury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Gordons name to the West Middlebury Baptist Church at 4950 West Middlebury Road, East Bethany, NY 14054.
