Gifford H. "Giff" Van Allen, age 88, of Martinville Rd., has been met in heaven by his parents; Gifford and Irene Lawrence Van Allen; a son, Gregory Van Allen; a son-in-law, Terry Conley; and a grand daughter, Markie Grace Conley. The reunion happened Thursday, January 31 ^st , 2019. He was born in Warsaw, March, 30 ^th , 1930 and was a lifetime resident of the community. Giff drove truck for the road paint crew with the New York State Department of Transportation for 35 years from where he retired in 1992. He was a volunteer fireman for over 25 years with the Warsaw Fire Department and was a current member of the Exempts, and a member of the Valley Chapel Free Methodist Church in Warsaw. Giff enjoyed bowling in Perry and Portageville with his friends in his senior group and was a former pin setter in his earlier years. He also enjoyed playing cards, taught his family rummy, and enjoyed weekly games with them. Giff traveled to all 50 states, Canada and Mexico with his beloved wife, Beverly. He served his country honorably during the Korean era with the United States Army. Giff is survived by his wife of 60 years, Beverly June Van Allen whom he married May 3 ^rd , 1958; a son, Stephen Van Allen of Warsaw; 2 daughters, Tawnnee Conley of Warsaw and Heather (Alejandro) Cruz of Perry; a sister, Virginia Levandowski of Cortland; 5 grandchildren, Taeler (Everesto) Kimori, Christa Van Allen, Jasmine Cruz, Luke Conley and Taryn Conley; and 3 great grandchildren, Nevaeh and Ava Kimori, and Christopher Medina Jr. Friends of Giff may call Monday, February 4 ^th , 2019 from 1 to 3pm and 6 to 8pm at the Weeks Funeral Home, 123 N. Main St. Warsaw where a firemen service will be held at 6pm. A funeral service will be held 11am Tuesday, February 5 ^th , 2019 at the Valley Chapel Free Methodist Church 3415 Rte. 19, Warsaw with Pastor Todd Daningburg officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, Silver Springs where full military honors will be rendered.
