Gertrude E. "Trudy" Schmidt, age 83, of North Main St., Warsaw, formerly of Wilder Rd., passed away Friday, January 31st, 2014 at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born in Archibald, PA, August 8th, 1930, daughter of the late Ellsworth and Grace Black Tallman. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County, Trudy was a dedicated and loving home maker. She loved to read, walk, crocheting, and spending time with her family. Trudy was also known as a terrific baker and cook. She was predeceased by her husband, Phillip B. Schmidt in 2010. Survivors include 2 daughters, Meg (Frank) Vanderwall of Canandaigua and Diane Horn of Warsaw; 2 sons, Phillip (Betty) Schmidt of Hamburg and Phillip B. Jr. (Christine) Schmidt of Cheektowaga; 2 brothers, Ellsworth Tallman Jr. and Donald Tallman, both of Jonesboro GA; 3 sisters, Genevive (Edward) Pfieffer of Buffalo, Phyllis (Robert) Bachmann of Hamburg and Sharon Tallman of GA.; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
