Gertrude E. Carmody, age 88, of Fox Road, Dale, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, September 5th at the Harris Hill Nursing Facility in Williamsville. Gertrude was born in Warsaw, March 14th 1929, the daughter of the late Albert and Matie Shea Kelsey. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County, Gertrude was a 1948 graduate of Warsaw High School. She worked as a clerk at Sinclair Pharmacy in Warsaw and as a homemaker. Gertrude was a terrific mother and grandmother who enjoyed babysitting. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Pete, who passed away September 7th 2011. Additionally deceased are her grand daughter Tammy Marie Veazey, 3 sisters; Mabel Krotz, Florence Goodenow, Doris Fisher and a brother, Gordon Kelsey. Survivors include her 2 daughters; Marlene (Jim) Veazey of Oakfield, Mary Lou (Art) Todtenhagen of Clarence Center, 7 grand children; Jennifer Schnettler, Karen (Lloyd Smith) Veazey, Janette (Jeff) Post, Kevin Veazey all of Oakfield, Jill (Kip) Kubiak of Clarence Center, Kristy (Marty) Karnyski of Akron, and Jerry (Marvin Smith) Todtenhagen of Orlando, FL. 8 great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted in Dale Cemetery Thursday, September 7th, 2017 at 11am.
