Genevieve A. Dawson, age 94, of West Court Street, Warsaw, and formerly Clarkson, New York, passed away peacefully, Sunday, September 15th 2024 at the Livingston County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Morris. Born in Perry, New York, August 28th 1930, a daughter of the late Michael and Katrina Wadrykowski Traczyk, Genevieve graduated from Perry High School in 1948 and went on to earn a degree in from Rochester Business Institute. She put her degree to work as a secretary for General Electric in Brockport for many years before retiring. She was very active in and dedicated to her church, the 1st United Methodist in Warsaw, and was a longtime member of the United Methodist Women. Genevieve enjoyed her flower garden, cooking and baking. She adored her cats and dog as well as watching Lawrence Welk.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert O. Dawson, her brothers, Steve, Otto and Walter Traczyk, her sisters, Julia Yencer, Fran Russotti, Charlotte Schmitt and Jenny Schnitzler.

Survivors include her son, Gregory (Michele) Dawson of Longmont, Colorado, a daughter, Debra Dawson of Warsaw, two grandchildren, Alexander and Danielle Dawson.

Friends of Genevieve A. Dawson may call on Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 2-4pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw, NY 14569. Funeral Services will follow the calling at 4pm with Pastor Eric Kelly of the 1st Congregational Church of Perry Center as officiant.
