Frederick J. Humphrey, "Freddy J.", age 80 of Liberty Street Warsaw passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo. Born in Warsaw, June 12, 1943 a son of the late Blakeley and Avis McClure Humphrey. A 1962 graduate of Warsaw Central School, Fred attended Erie Community College before taking a job at and later working his way up to the Vice President of operations at B. R. Dewitt in Pavilion for over thirty years and through the transition to Hanson Aggregates. After Hanson, Fred continued working at the Village of Warsaw Highway Department for five years as the Assistant Highway Superintendent.

He served his community for many years with the Warsaw Fire Department and absolutely loved boating with his family. Fred enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and sports. He was a member of the Wyoming Conservation Club and the private "Sportsman's Club" with his friends at their camp in Andover. Fred was a "No nonsense" guy who loved his family dearly and cherished all of his many friends. Fred made sure that everyone new "It had to be Fred's way".

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Blakeley and Charles Humphrey, a sister, Ann Humphrey.

Survivors include his loving wife and best friend of 59 years, Shirley A. Herrmann Humphrey, whom he married on June 19, 1965. Additional survivors include his son, John Humphrey of Penfield, a daughter Jennifer Humphrey of Warsaw, four grandsons, Blakeley, Conor, Braden Humphrey and Xander Morton.
