Frank R. Versage, age 85, of Warsaw, died peacefully, Tuesday, August 10th 2010 at the New York State Veterans Home in Batavia. Frank was born in Mt. Morris, NY, July 2nd 1925 the son of the late Dominick and Jennie Sciarrino Versage. He was a graduate of Mt. Morris High School and attended the School of Photography at Rochester Institute of Technology. Frank was a professional photographer who owned and operated Versage Photography in Mt. Morris from 1946 to 1966. He then purchased the Warsaw Cinema in 1968 and operated for forty years until his retirement in 2008. Frank was a longtime member of the Mt. Morris American Legion and veteran of WWII. He was very dedicated to his theater and the children of the community.
Frank was predeceased by his parents and a nephew, Michael Versage.
Survivors include two brothers; Joseph (Bonnie) Versage of Batavia, Anthony (Becky) Versage of Bath, nephews; Joseph (Stephanie) Versage, John (Theresa) Versage, both of Batavia, nieces; Stacy (Mark) Marzello of Cheektowaga, Teal (Tim) Abel of Carthage, NY, and a long time friend William Wilkinson of Warsaw.
Graveside services will be held at 1pm Thursday, August 12th 2010 at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Mt. Morris with Deacon John Kelly of St. Michael's Parish Warsaw as celebrant. Burial will follow with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made in Frank's name to the Wyoming County Veterans Service Agency 26 Linwood Ave. Warsaw, NY 14569.
