Frank J. Cummins, age 70, of Rte. 16 passed away Saturday, July 1st, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Warsaw, August 4th, 1946, son of the late Robert and Amy Casper Cummins. A resident of Franklinville since 2008, previously of Warsaw, Frank worked as a night supervisor for Morton Salt in Silver Springs for 30 years from where he retired in 2012. He was a member of the VFW Post #4823 in Warsaw. Frank was a hardworking and very generous man who would give the shirt off his back and was the first to help others. He loved his animals, both farm and domestic, and loved scratch off lottery tickets. Frank was a terrific builder and was very adept in carpentry. He served his country honorably with the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1968 as a Fuel Specialist. Frank was predeceased by 2 nephews, Christopher Cummins and Douglas Hayes and a brother-in-law, David Brown. Survivors include his wife, Susan Bannister Cummins of Franklinville whom he married in 2010; 2 sons, James (Cheryl) Cummins of Warsaw and Joseph (Deanna Wilcox) Cummins of Warsaw; a daughter, Jennifer Cummins of Warsaw; a grandson, Nicholas Cummins of Warsaw; 3 brothers, Robert (Shirley) Cummins of Warsaw, Richard Cummins of Bliss and Raymond (Bobby) Cummins of Castile; 3 sisters, Barbara Brown of Attica, Katherine Cowie of Warsaw, and Edith (James) Hayes of Perry; former wife and mother of his children, Kathleen Cummins of Warsaw; a step-son, Jeffrey Bannister of Warsaw; 2 step-daughters, Amy (Joseph) Weaver of Franklinville and Tammy (Jeffrey) Wright of Warsaw; a step-grand daughter, Marleigh Grace Wright; and step grand sons, Nicholas Vega, Draven Bannister, Mason Lanni, and Zachary Weaver. Friends of Frank may call Thursday, July 6th, 2017 from 1 to 3pm and 6 to 8pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw. A funeral service will be held 10am Friday, July 7th, 2017 with Frank's brother, Raymond Cummins officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Cattaraugus County Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the veterans organization of the donors choice.
