Florence (Flo) Mary Woodworth (Potter) age 75 passed away on December 12, 2024 at the Houghton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Houghton, NY where she was well loved by the staff and residents there. She was born on February 13, 1949 in Warsaw, NY to the late Alexander and Alberta (Wright) Potter and was raised by her late grandparents Alexander and Julia Potter
She attended Letchworth Central and graduated in 1967. Flo went on to hold many different jobs throughout her life including the Warsaw Knitting Mill, Mallory Timers, Archway Cookie Factory. Then she became self employed as a custodian and house keeper for several businesses and private homes. She retired in 1998 after being in a bad car accident and even survived cancer surgery and chemotherapy in 2011. She was known for her love of family and friends and was called mom or grandma by many that knew her. She was blessed by God with a beautiful singing voice and ability to whistle and loved to collect teddy bears and birdhouses and loved gardening.
She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Woodworth, whom she married in 1968. Three daughters Michele (Ronald) Skelly, Heidi (Robert) Nickerson, Heather Woodworth and her boyfriend, Hank Fearby. Seven grandchildren Abigail, Ryan, Justin Skelly, Douglas and Alexis Nickerson, Matthew and Abby Flannigan, and one great grand daughter Onnolee Skelly. She is also survived by her sisters Sylvia (the late Donald) Dreilling, Christine (Don) Tireman, Sandra (the late Mike) Colley, Julia Potter, and a brother Chris (Brenda) Potter. She is also predeceased by brothers Skip (Evelyn) Potter, and Larry Potter and a sister Jean (Bill) Frasier. An Aunt Julia Pierce that she was very close to and helped raise her and many other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends all of whom she loved greatly.
She was an active member of the La Grange Baptist church and served as a custodian and office clerk for many years. She often shared her gift of singing and whistling with her fellow church members and will be remembered for her faith, dedication and generosity.
There will be no calling hours or funeral as she will be cremated and her remains will be buried in the La Grange Cemetery in Pavilion, NY. A memorial service will be held on January 4, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the La Grange Baptist Church in Pavilion, NY. Weeks Funeral Home 123 North Main Street Warsaw, NY has arrangements.
