Ethel V. Bauer, age 94, of Route 98, Varysburg, passed away Monday, July 18th, 2011 at the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Facility in Greece. She was born December 28th, 1916, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Mary Kohler Barbour. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County and an Attica High School Graduate, Ethel retired from working for Anita Lundburg in Johnsonburg, New York. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Attica and taught junior church for over 40 years as well as being a bible club missionary. Ethel enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved nature, different types of handiwork, and was very dedicated to her family. Ethel was predeceased by her husband, Therme O. Bauer; 3 sons, Roger, Gary and Dale; and a brother, Everett Barbour. Survivors include 2 daughers-in-law, Alice Bauer of Warsaw and Sally Bauer of Ontario, NY; 2 grandsons, David (Jan) Bauer of Spokane, WA and Raymond (Pam) Bauer of Castile; 2 granddaughters, Sherri (Bob) Rood of Jamestown, NY and Shelley (Andy) Argona of Niagara Falls, NY; 4 great granddaughters and 3 great great grandchildren. Services for Ethel will be held at 11am, Friday, July 22nd, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Attica. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Dutch Flats.
