Emmajean "Emmie" Buttles, age 91 of Westview Crescent in Geneseo, New York passed away, peacefully, at home, surrounded by her family, Tuesday, August 6, 2024. Emmie was born in Perry, New York, a daughter of the late Alfred and Edith Wesche Marriott. She was a lifetime resident of Warsaw and Wyoming but moved to Geneseo in 2021 to be closer to her family. A Perry Central Graduate, she worked for a time at Eastman Kodak in Rochester and then went on to work as the Assistant Activities Director at East Side Nursing Home in Warsaw. Emmie loved Jesus and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Warsaw where she served as a group leader for the Pioneer Girls. Emmie coached Cheer Leading at Wyoming Central School and loved flowers of all kinds. She was a very upbeat, positive, pleasant and giving of herself and her time. Emmie adored her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Keith H. Buttles in 2014, a son, David Buttles and a brother, Justin Marriott.
Survivors include her sons, Timothy (Alla) Buttles of Geneseo, Gerald Buttles of West Palm Beach, Florida, her daughters, Karen (Gary) Reed of Buffalo, Marianne (Rob) Branch of Las Vegas, Nevada, a sister, Luella Jacuzzo of Webster, New York, 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a great grand daughter on the way as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends of Emmajean Buttles may call on Monday, August 12, 2024 from 10am to 12pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw, New York 14569. Funeral services will follow the calling at 12pm with Pastor Winston Platt of the First Baptist Church as officiant. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery, Perry New York. Please visit www.weeksfuneral.com to offer condolences, send gifts, cards, light a candle or plant a tree in Emmie's name. Memorials are request to the church for their Mission Outreach.
