Edgar C.
Turner
Sep 23, 1935 — Jun 5, 2026
Warsaw
Edgar C. Turner, age 90, of Liberty Street Warsaw, passed peacefully on Friday, June 5, 2026, at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility, whom the family would like to thank for their outstanding care. Ed was born in Woodhull, New York, September 23, 1935, the son of the late Wallace and Lula Payne Turner. A 1955 graduate of Madison High School, Ed went on to serve honorably in the United States Army earning the rank of Specialist, in radio maintenance and repair, from 1958 to 1960 spending time in Germany and the States. He resided in Rochester for most of his life until retirement from his own successful business in 1998, Turner Plumbing and Heating. After retirement he moved with his beloved wife and bookkeeper, the late Phyllis Schaefer Turner, to the "Woods" of Wyoming County, as she liked to call it. They raised a beautiful family together. Ed was very active supporting all things veteran related from his membership and many years of driving for the Disabled American Veterans and with Walter Klein Post #532 of the American Legion. He remained active until recently with the Warsaw Lodge #549 of the F&AM, the Warsaw Grange and served as the chairman of the Wyoming County Republican Party. Alongside his love of the outdoors, Ed served as a lifeguard for the City of Rochester. He not only liked to hunt but he also enjoyed sharing his land with locals as it was his pride and joy.
We would be remiss if we didn't mention the beauty and grace that he and his beloved wife Phyllis showed when they danced the night away. It was enchanting to watch two people so deeply in love.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis in 2023, his son, Bradley Turner in 2023, and his daughter, Darlene Turner in 2008.
Survivors include his son, Jeffrey (Lisa) Turner of Hilton, a daughter, Wendy (Larry) Linville, of Spencerport, five grandchildren, Heather, Matthew, and Lyndsay Turner, Bradley and Matthew Englert and several nieces and nephews.
