Duane E. Carmichael, age 78, of Dolph Rd., passed away Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. He was born in Presque Isle, Maine June 17th, 1934, the son of the late Malcolm and Hazel Dyer Carmichael. A graduate of Presque Isle High School in Maine and a lifetime resident of Wyoming County, Duane worked as a farmer for many years, retiring from the McCormick Farms in Hermitage. Duane enjoyed gardening, playing cards, watching westerns and the business channel, his animals and sports teams from the New England area. He was predeceased by a sister, Beverly Harding and 2 brothers, Ronald and Keith Carmichael. Survivors include his loving wife, Ida K. Carmichael; 4 daughters, Sandra (Dale) Beroff of Farmersville, Druanne Walczak of Castile, Tracy (Jeffrey) Carmichael of Cross Plains, TN., and Janelle Parrott of Woodbine, GA; 4 sons, Dale Carmichael of Woodbine, GA, Randy (LuAnne) Carmichael of Silver Springs, Steven (Sherri) Carmichael of Batavia and Kenneth (Brenda) Carmichael of Cowelsville, NY; a sister, Maxine Patton of Presque Isle, Maine; a brother, Garol (Jean) Carmichael of Presque Isle, Maine; 23 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Friends of Duane may call Monday, October 8th, 2012 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St., Warsaw. A funeral service will be held 10am, Tuesday, October 9th, 2012 at the Rock Glen Baptist Church with Pastor Daryn Duff as officiant. Burial will follow in the Hermitage Cemetery, Wethersfield.
