Donald Richardson, age 79, of Dale Rd., passed away Tuesday, September 30th, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in West Bloomfield, August 17th, 1935, son of the late Oliver L. and Bernice Jenkins Richardson. A lifetime resident of western New York, and 1953 graduate of Byron – Bergen High School, Bill worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Operating Engineers Union in Rochester; Foreman for the LeRoy Machine Shop; and as a truck driver for various companies and eventually retiring with the Town of Middlebury. He was a hard worker and avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and all outdoor activities, especially helping stock local streams and the pheasant population. Bill volunteered with the Wyoming Hook and Ladder beginning in 1973, was a life member of the North American Hunting Club and the NRA, current president of the Wyoming Conservation Association, delegate to the Wyoming County Wildlife Federation, and member of the Oatka Valley Sno-Mobile Club with whom he was a trail groomer. He was a loving and selfless father and grandfather and a gentle, soft spoken man known for his patience and supportiveness. Bill was predeceased by 2 brothers, Tom and Oliver "Bud" Richardson and 3 sisters; Bess Ayers, Grace Favata and Virginia Eygabroat. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Stalhood Richardson of Dale; 3 sons, Lynn (Janice) Richardson of North Java, Craig (Nancy) Richardson of Honeoye Falls, and Keith Richardson of Dale; 2 daughters, Donna (Doug) Todd of Warsaw and Cheryl (Jim) Powell of Linwood, 2 brothers, Charles (Ginny) Richardson of Jamestown and James "Drew" (Aggie) Richardson of Rochester; 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and numerous close friends and family members. A Celebration of Bill's life will be held 1pm Sunday October 12th at the fire hall in Wyoming with Reverend Bill Taber of the York Baptist Church officiating.
