Donald R. Strathearn, age 79, of Fruit Street, Perry, New York passed away, Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. Don was born in Warsaw, June 26, 1945, a son of the late Harold and Violet Gell Strathearn. Don attended Wyoming Central School and immediately enlisted in the United States Army, serving honorably in Germany from 1964 to 1967. When he returned home from the Army, Don worked various jobs throughout the region but settled in as a general contractor working with Phil Richardson Construction in Perry. He truly had an interesting sense of humor and his cooking skills were legendary, "only to himself." Don was a fan of and collected Elvis memorabilia and just about anything else he could find. He was creative in his own way and just loved tinkering. Don was also a longtime member of VFW Post #5009, the Vets Club and the Sportsman's Club all in Perry.

Don was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Adair.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Marion Richardson Strathearn whom he married on January 6, 1984. Additional survivors include his son, Dave (Trisha) Strathearn of Warsaw, two daughters, Carrie (Craig) Irwin of Castile, Julie (Scott) Doles of Henrietta, three sisters, Carol Brown of Wyoming, Linda Smith of Perry, Debbie (Richard) Copeland of Wyoming, three grandsons, Daniel Strathearn, Jacob Wilson, and Tyler Doles as well as several nieces and nephews.
