Don Robert Whitton Jr., age 80, of Townline Road, Nunda, passed away Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. He was born November 12th, 1931 in Geneva, NY, the son of the late Don R. and Dorothea M. Weeks Whitton. Raised in South Buffalo and a resident of Wyoming County since 1971, Don graduated from South Park High School in 1949. He worked for 35 years plus at the Ford Motor Company in Woodlawn, NY, retiring in 1986 as Plant Manager. Don also honorably served his country in the United States Navy and Navy Reserve. He was a member of Warsaw Moose Lodge #560. Don was known as a man with a dynamic and infectious personality who inspired those around him. He was a committed friend and loving father and husband. Don loved spending time at his cabin, his horses, the outdoors, his dogs, Native American culture and history. He is predeceased by his first wife, Patricia Dunmire and a sister, Dorothy Fields. Survivors include his wife, Jacquelyn Green Whitton; 3 sons, Jeffrey (Donna) Whitton, Mark (Kimm) Whitton, and Brian Whitton, all of Warsaw; 3 daughters, Elizabeth (William) Beck of Attica, Barbara Richardson of Orangeville and Patti-Jo Helm of Wiscoy; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 nieces and a nephew. Friends of Don may call Friday, November 25th, 2011 from 12 to 2pm at the Weeks Funeral Home, 123 N. Main Street, Warsaw. A funeral service will be held following visitation at 2pm.
