Dominick P. Uveino Jr., age 61, formerly of Gainesville and Perry, died Saturday, February 20th, 2010 at the VA Medical Center in Batavia. Nick was born in Warsaw, June 19th, 1948, the son of the late Dominick P. and Mary E. Barnard Uveino. He was a lifetime resident of Wyoming County and served in the United States Army during Vietnam. Nick worked as a farmer for several area vegetable farms but most recently for Marquart's in Gainesville. A member of the Perry Vets Club and the Gainesville Fire Department, Nick enjoyed NASCAR, especially Tony Stewart as well as listening to country music and hunting. He is survived by two daughters; Amity Uveino of Belfast and Ellen (William Bartholomay) Uveino of Rochester; two sons, Dominick Uveino III of Perry and Kyle (Lisa) Uveino of Perry; three brothers, Joseph (Kathleen) Uveino of Perry, Andrew (Patti) Uveino of Gainesville and Chuck Uveino of Tennesee; one sister, Myra Sherman of Hammondsport; 11 grandchildren and former wife and close friend Judy Uveino of Perry. Services for Dominick P. Uveino Jr. will be held at 11am, Wednesday, February 24th, 2010 graveside at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Gainesville with Rev. John Shearing of Letchworth New Life Fellowship as celebrant. Memorial contributions may be made to Letchworth New Life Fellowship in Nick's name.
