Diana Lee Swede, age 67, of Perry Road, Pavilion, died August 22nd, 2010, at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. She was born in Warsaw, September 12th, 1942, the daughter of the late Austin and Arlene Wellman Milligan.
Diana was a lifetime resident of Wyoming County and a 1960 graduate of Pavilion Central School. She worked alongside her husband doing clerical work for George & Swede Sales & Service as well as partnering with her daughter at the Chicken Coop in Pavilion. Diana attended St. Mary's Church in Pavilion and was formerly a 4-H leader. She played in the ladies golf league at BW's in Pavilion. Diana was extremely witty but also known as a compassionate, kind, gentle, and fun-loving woman who was liked by all.
She was predeceased by her brother, Donald Milligan.
Survivors include her loving husband of 49 years, Darryl R. Swede whom she married on June 3rd, 1961. Also surviving are 2 daughters; Laurie (David) Cutcliffe of Pavilion and Ann (Jeffory) Hurlburt of Scottsville, a son; Michael Swede of Pavilion, 2 brothers; Robert (Karen) Milligan and David (Jo) Milligan, 2 sisters; Sharon (Gary) Swede and Shirley (Stewart) Whitney all of Pavilion, 6 grandchildren; Eric, Ashley, Travis, Katelyn, Samantha, and Robert.
Friends of Diana L. Swede may call from 2 to 9 pm, Wednesday, August 25th at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street, Warsaw NY 14569. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Thursday, August 26th at 10 am with Father Richard Cilano as celebrant. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in York.
