Dean E. "Rip" Ewell, age 75, of Millard Street, Dundee, NY, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 14h 2021 at The Homestead at Soldiers and Sailors Hospital in Penn Yan,NY. Rip was born in Warsaw, New York, May 2 nd 1945 a son of the late John E. Ewell and Jean Fisher Ewell of Pearl Creek. Rip was a 1963 graduate of Pavilion Central School. He served honorably in the United States Army from 1966 – 1968. After completing his military service, Rip earned a B.S in Marine Biology from the University of Georgia. He went on to work as a quality control specialist for Elderly Steel in Geneva. A longtime member of the former Wyoming Presbyterian Church, Rip loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, reading and camping. Rip enjoyed his passion for shooting with his membership in the Barrington Gun Club in Penn Yan.

Dean was preceded in death by his wife; Jane Tauscher Ewell in 2004.

Survivors include his son; Zeke Ewell of Penn Yan, 4 brothers; Judd (Janet) Ewell of Warsaw, Mac (Carla) Ewell of Elba, Seth (Marcy) Ewell of Wyoming, Wade (Laurie) Ewell of East Bethany and several nieces and nephews.

A private memorial will be held at the convenience of the family and burial will take place in the Wyoming Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Rip's name to the Wyoming Cemetery Association at 1324 Kingsley Road Wyoming, NY 14591.
