David H. Vincent, age 79, of Salina St. Warsaw, died Thursday, April 7th, 2011 at the East Side Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Hume, NY June 9th, 1931, the son of the late Walter H. and Etta L. Stebbins Vincent. A resident of Warsaw since 2000 and previously of Castile, David graduated from Ten Broeck Academy in Franklinville, NY in 1950. David worked most his life as a Furniture Design Engineer in Bemus Point and Jamestown as well as various other furniture manufacturers in the area. He retired in 1993 from the Champion in Perry where he was a foreman. David trusted in and walked with the Lord and gathered his strength from his faith. He was a member of LaGrange Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon as well as teaching Sunday school and serving as Lay Pastor at the Mt. Zion Tabernacle. David also served his country honorably with the United States Air Force from 1950-1954 where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. David also served an additional six years in the Air Force Reserve. David was also a member of the Walter Klein Post #532 of the American Legion in Warsaw. He is predeceased by his wife, Joyce Main-Vincent; a son, Robert Vincent; a daughter, Cynthia Ault; 3 brothers, Roderick, Paul, and Malcolm and a sister, Hope Mosher. Survivors include his loving companion, Betty Ellen Case of Warsaw; 2 sisters, Yvonne Albrecht of Canandaigua and Audry Fisher of Carmichael, California; a half brother, Walter (Jean) Vincent of Bloomfield, a half sister, Anna Mae (Wilbur) Coons of Canandaigua and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends of David may call Sunday, April 10th, from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw. An American Legion Service will be conducted prior to Funeral services which will be held at the funeral home Monday, April 11th, at 2pm with Pastor Dan Case of LaGrange Baptist Church and Pastor J. J. Bailey of Mt. Zion Tabernacle as celebrants. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion Tabernacle at 5503 Broughton Rd.
