Obituary

David L. Cooper age 72, of Conable Way, Warsaw passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the Veterans Medical Center in Buffalo. David was born in Newton, New Jersey, February 11, 1951, a son of the late Jack R. and June E. Ward Cooper. A 1970 graduate of Blairstown High School in New Jersey, David went on to join the United States Air Force and served honorable from 1971 to 1975 and continuing his service through the Air Force Reserve completing 29 years before retiring in 2000. Dave was a hard worker who worked for a time at Buffalo General Hospital in the Supply, Processing, and Distribution Department, the Buffalo Airport, Harrison Radiator / Delphi as an assembler with Local #686. Dave was a terrific story teller who could seemingly bring the words to life. He was a dedicated father, grandfather, brother and friend. David had a great sense of humor and could make light of any situation. A very generous person, David would drop everything to help someone else in need.

David was preceded in death by two sisters, Diane Costello, Marilyn Merrel and a brother in-law, John F. Copeland.

Survivors include his three sons, Robert (Janelle) Cooper of Royalton, NY, Jason Cooper of Clarence Center, Patrick Cooper of North Tonawanda, three sisters, Roxane (Jim) Sparr of Mannford, Oklahoma, Susan Nugent of LeRoy, Jackie Copeland of Wethersfield, his former wife and mother of his children, Debbie Cooper of North Tonawanda, four grandchildren, Alexis, Emberley, Marissa, and Savannah Cooper as well as several nieces and nephews.

David will be laid to rest with full military honors at 1pm Wednesday, January 31, 2024 in the Veterans National Cemetery in Pembroke following a Veterans Service conducted by the Wyoming County Veterans.
