Obituary

David D. Buckley, age 77 of Warsaw Blvd., Silver Springs, passed away Thursday, April 30th, 2015 at the Crossroads House in Batavia. He was born in Pike, February 14th, 1938, son of the late William Buckley and Edith Lewis. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County, David worked as a trackman and inspector for the Genesee and Wyoming Rail Road for 36 years from where he retired in 1995. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church of Silver Springs and the National Rifle Association. David was a man of his word who was very private and protective of his family. He enjoyed working on his yard and was a terrific artist. David was predeceased by a son, Davey Buckley; a brother, William Buckley; and 5 sisters, Charlotte Upright, Violet Green, Marion Brown, Maude Bisson, and Delphine Hall. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Reva B. Mason Buckley of Silver Springs; 2 daughters, Kendra (Rodney) Carney of Ossian and Jody Buckley of Warsaw; 2 sons, Jeff (Tanya) Buckley of Castile and Darren Buckley of Silver Springs; a sister, Lucia Griffen of Warsaw; 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends of David may call from 10am to 11am Monday, May 4th, 2015 at the Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church. A funeral service will follow at 11am with Pastor Jay Bailey officiating. Burial will take place in the Elmwood Cemetery, Pike.
