Clella E. Cook, age 99 of N. Main St. Warsaw, died peacefully, Sunday, October 4th 2009 at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw. Clella was born in Hume, NY, March 29th 1910 the daughter of the late Charles and Lettie Travis Mix. She worked for many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Wyoming County Community Hospital and Ridder Nursing Home in Gainesville. She was a longtime member of the Attica Baptist Church and the Golden Agers. Clella enjoyed gardening and spending time with her loving family. She was preceded in death by her three former husbands, Floyd Smith, Chester Chase, and Joseph Cook. Also predeceased are a daughter; Gertrude Hendrickson, a son; Gerald Smith, three brothers; Clifford, Lowell, Harold Mix, and a sister; Clara Wightman. Survivors include a son; Elmer (Margaret) Smith of Carlisle, PA, a daughter Irene McGinnis of Warsaw, a brother; James Mix of Panama City FL, two sisters; Jane Washburn of Castile, and Margaret Washburn of Panama City, FL, three step-sons, Gary Cook of Perry, Eugene Cook of Sanborn, NY, Tyrone Cook of California, a step-daughter Beverly (Joseph) Sheridan of New Jersey, 18 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews survive. Friends of Clella Cook may call on Wednesday, October 7th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 8th at 10am with Pastor Randall Bell of Attica Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Warsaw Cemetery.
