Charles A. Wilson, age 90, of Warsaw-Wyoming Rd., passed away Sunday, August 3rd, 2014 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital. He was born in Wyoming, August 15th, 1923, son of the late Cleon and Alice VanAllen Wilson. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County, Charles worked as a dairy farmer in his early years in Warsaw, then worked as a line supervisor for C.B. Foods in LeRoy from where he retired in 1986 after 25 years. He was church custodian for Wyoming Baptist Church for 30 years and for St. Michael's Church and school for 7 years. Charles was a avid gardener and woodsman who enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. He loved his family, his church, and his country. Charles served his country honorably with the United States Navy on the destroyer "Balch" and wished to be remembered as a servant of God and country. He was predeceased by his first wife, Barbara Hudson; a daughter, Linda Chenaille on July 30th, 2014; 4 brothers, Chester (Vera) Wilson, Robert (Evelyn) Wilson, William (Pauline) Wilson and Howard Wilson; and 3 sisters, Marian (Alvin) Langdon, Lucille (Dean) Cooper, and Dorothy Wilson. Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Alice C. Mutton Wilson; 2 sons, C. Arnold (Carol) Wilson of Perry and James Wilson of Delaware; a daughter, Susan (Steven) Lee of Warsaw; a son-in-law, Michael Chenaille of Perry, 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends of Charles may call from 10am to 12pm Tuesday, August 5th, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Wyoming. A funeral service will be held after calling hours at 12pm with Pastor Douglas Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the Wyoming Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Charles name to the First Baptist Church of Wyoming at 28 Main St. Wyoming, NY 14591 or to the Wyoming Rescue Squad at PO Box 36 Wyoming, NY 14591.
