Charles E. Palmer, age 77 of LaGrange, New York, passed away peacefully, Friday, September 27 ^th , surrounded by his loving family, at the Monroe Community Hospital in Rochester. He was born in Albion, New York, June 20 ^th 1942, the son of the late Edward C. and Katheryn R. Yell Palmer. Charles graduated from the Albion Central School in 1960 and attended RIT. He was a resident of Wyoming County since 1988 and previously resided in Albion. Charles worked as a cashier in mutuals for Finger Lakes Gaming for 27 years before retiring and working part time as a greeter at the Warsaw Walmart. He was a faithful member of LaGrange Baptist Church. Charles absolutely loved bowling and he enjoyed harness racing, driving, boarding and raising horses. Charles found peace and relaxation in maintaining his property. He and his wife were fond of traveling to various horse racing tracks nationwide.

Charles was preceded in death by his grandson, Samuel Palmer.

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Mary A. Howard Palmer whom he married on July 16 ^th 1966. Also surviving are his son, Chris (Melissa) Palmer of LaGrange, a daughter Catheryn (Jared) Speechley of Wyoming, NY, a brother, Donald Palmer of Elba, 3 grandchildren, Chyann, Sabrina, and Erik and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends of Charles E. Palmer may call on Tuesday, October 1 ^st at the First Baptist Church of Pavilion from 10am to 12pm. Funeral services will begin at 12pm with Pastor Dan Case of LaGrange Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Rest Cemetery in Bergen.
